Photo IDs Required at Town Hall Meetings!

August 12, 2009

How come you can vote without a photo ID, but you need one to attend a town hall meeting?  Representative Gene Green is worried that his town hall meeting on health care will be disrupted so he announced on his website that he will require attendees to show photo identification to enter the meeting.  At the end of the day I don’t think this is a bad idea (Pete Sessions is doing the same thing).  What is ironic is that Representative Green’s own website suggests he is against requring voters to show photo ID to vote.  In 2006 he voted against requiring voters to show photo ID (check it out here).  You can’t make this sort of stuff up.
