Obama Delegate Pretends to be a Doctor

August 13, 2009

In Houston, supporters of the health care bill are pretending to be doctors when they speak in support of the bill or ask questions about the bill.  For example, the Patterico has a post titled, “Roxana Mayer: I’m Not a Doctor But I Play One at Town Hall Meetings.“  The title basically says it all and after you stop laughing; you should realize the Democrats are forced to fabricate support for a bill their own constituents don’t support.  We need common sense solutions to make the system we have today work better.  Reform it!  But don’t throw it out, don’t put us on a course toward socialized medicine.

In Roxana’s case she has friends who are doctors that couldn’t be at the event so she decided to ask questions on their behalf using their identities.  I guess this somehow makes it okay?  The interesting part of the story was that the Houston Chronicle (a paper I delivered as a boy in Houston) reported about the woman and her questions, but failed to mention that she was an Obama delegate despite the fact that they had that information.  They also never checked her story – i.e. that she was a doctor.  Why didn’t they report what they knew?  Why didn’t they verify her identity?

Hopefully, we don’t all get fake doctors – i.e. because you won’t be able to get real doctors after Obama signs ObamaCare into law.  Finally, I wonder if anyone in the Houston DAs office will charge Roxana with violating section §156.008 of the occupations code?

  1. Interesting. Check out this link about a similar story. Just kidding.

But seriously, if this were done for a conservative cause, the media would be all over it with Watergate-like attention. Instead, I’m sure it’s just passed off as a poor misguided soul with no harm intended.

Because moving toward socialized health-care is the desired agenda (and ultimately a socialized society — or worse), anything done in that name or toward that goal, no matter how wrong, is okay. In this case, the ends justify the means.

Congress, return to what your jobs are: serving the country rather than yourselves. If we took away the perks, the money, the power, would you still be willing to serve? (operative word: “Serve”, not “take”, “rule”, or “control”)

  2. [...] claiming they are somehow ‘fake’ when the Democrats have been sending in their own operatives to show support for ObamaCare.  Check out this [...]
