Public Option, Good or Bad for Democrats?

August 20, 2009

Teddy Davis, from ABC News, is reporting that if Democrats fail to pass ObamaCare they will lose their majority in the midterm elections next year.  Really?  A majority of Americans don’t want to see ObamaCare pass into law.  John Kinsellagh sums it up nicely, “In a stinging rebuke to a Democratic-controlled Congress, 54% say that passing no reform legislation is better than the various draft proposals currently under consideration.”

Ironically, I think the opposite is likely true.  If Democrats continue to ignore the majority of their constituents who oppose ObamaCare they are likely to be voted out of office in large numbers in 2010.  Are we willing to let the Democrats euthanize themselves?  Of course the answer is no, not if we love our country and want to see it work for Americans.  Our current system works imperfectly.  Lets fix it, not trash it.  Read about my proposal to reform health care here.
