What Cable News Do you Watch?

November 5, 2009

Most Americans watch Fox.  Wonder why since they are so bad?  Here are the latest ratings from election night:

  • FOXNEWS 4,043,000 (1,130,00 25-54)
  • MSNBC 974,000 (308,000 25-54)
  • Headline News 842,000 (341,00 25-54)
  • CNN 826,000 (227,000 25-54)

Interesting Stuff.

  1. I *don’t* watch news. I get my news from other sources. It’s argumentum ad populum to imply Fox ratings gives them any sort of grasp on unbiased reporting. Yes. They’re very popular. I bet more people would tune into CNN if Beck had cried for them.

That said, you seem to have left off some info. “Election night” as in this year? The snoozefest midterm election that Fox played up as somehow meaningful? Did no other network cover it? No ABC, NBC, or CBS? And cherry picked ratings at that, since you’re likely citing one show or one timeslot. With no references.

And didn’t the US have a population somewhere around 300 million, which would mean *most* would have to be 150 or more million. I only see you listing 4 million there.
