AARP losing members by the thousands
August 18, 2009
CBS News is reporting than more than 60,000 Americans have cancelled their AARP memberships since the group came out in support of Obama’s health care plan. The AARP, in response, said, “losing 60 thousand is just a drop int he bucket”. Which bucket?

AARP in the tank for Obama?

Obama suggested today that the AARP had endorsed his health care plan (FYI – the president hasn’t actually proposed anything, instead Congress has put together what we have been calling ObamaCare). [via] Here is what he said:
“We have the AARP on board because they know this is a good deal for our seniors.” Then he said, “Well, first of all, another myth that we’ve been hearing about is this notion that somehow we’re going to be cutting your Medicare benefits. We are not. AARP would not be endorsing a bill if it was undermining Medicare, okay?”
It is clear to everyone that the AARP is supporting ObamaCare, except they don’t want to admit it, just yet. After Obama’s statement the AARP was quick to release a statement indicating,
“While the President was correct that AARP will not endorse a health care reform bill that would reduce Medicare benefits, indications that we have endorsed any of the major health care reform bills currently under consideration in Congress are inaccurate.”
Of course, anyone who saw the AARP town hall meeting on ObamaCare knows EXACTLY where the AARP stands. Check out the meeting and see if you agree:
Even AARP members object to ObamaCare

Yesterday someone forwarded this video of an AARP ‘listening session’ where the AARP representatives simply refuse to listen to their members. When the AARP representative leaves and the members continue the meet the representative returns and removed the microphone. The members continue the meeting without the microphone and the AARP representative interrupts them again. More Americans need to stop listening to the B.S. and start working toward real solutions – real change. I think we all agree the current system is broken, but that doesn’t mean we should sit back and accept a clearly flawed plan in its place.
In any event, agree or disagree with these people – they make me proud to be an American. Really moving stuff. Real and to the point.
