Illegal immigrants to get representation?
August 15, 2009
In a move that states like Louisiana decry as un-Constitutional, the White House will be counting illegal immigrants in the 2010 census. By including illegal immigrants to determine political representation in Congress, states like Texas will gain seats. The downside is that these illegal immigrants won’t be allowed to vote on their new representatives. This, to me, seems un-Constitutional. Everyone should be able to vote for or against those people who will represent their interests in Congress. Will we start to let illegals to vote? Why not? We need to resolve the immigration issue. Ignoring it doesn’t work. Cherry picking solutions based on which party you are a member of doesn’t work either. We need a conservative solution to immigration – not a Democratic or Republican issue. My plan? My 2007 plan is here.
