Four minutes you need to watch . . .

In December Obama will sign a treaty giving US sovereignty to a ‘world government’ transferring wealth from the US to the third world.  Lord Christopher Monckton has a warning for all Americans:

Confession: I think global warming is a scam. . .

http://anhonestclimatedebate.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/algore-money.jpgMany of my friends on the Left (and some of you on the Right) have suspected for years that I was skeptical of the whole global warming concept.  Does man impact climate in some way?  Sure, I will give you that.  But I believe that the changes in climate that have been going on for millions of years will continue with or without our help.  Why make this admission today?  Simple, the world has gone mad.

The New York Times is reporting that Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries are demanding the US and the EU compensate them for reduced oil consumption due to their programs to combat global warming.  You have to be kidding me!  The entire world is lined up at the doorstep of the US and EU asking for money in exchange for our CO2 production.  I wish Obama would stand up at the UN and proclaim, “Not one dime!”  Billions of dollars are being pumped into imaginary businesses that trade carbon credits.  All of this madness is based on the premise that global warming is a crisis.

You won’t hear about this in the mainstream media in the US, but the rest of the world is beginning to take note of an ‘inconvenient truth‘: the globe has been cooling for the past decade and leading scientists are suggesting we could have as many as 30 more years of ‘global cooling’.  International leaders (not Obama) have called the climate change debate a “weapon of mass taxation“.  They are right.

So what is the truth?  NASA claims the hottest year on the earth happened in 1934.  Our CO2 emissions have continued to grow – precipitously, but at the same time the earth’s temperature appeared to stabilize blowing up all of Al Gore’s predictions.  What is going on?  With the surge in CO2 global warming was assured, right?  Not so fast, new scientific findings point to a much bigger influence on global temperatures – it isn’t CO2 as we previously assumed – it is the temperature of the oceans.  Evidently the oceans have been cooling over the last decade and are in a thirty year cooling cycle.  After the 30s, the hottest period on record, the Pacific ocean went through a cooling cycle until 1977 when the ocean began to warm again.  The warming period lasted until 1998 and then entered into another 30 year cooling trend.

At the end of the day I don’t know if CO2 causing warming.  I don’t know if the ocean does it.  I don’t know if sun spots cause warming.  It doesn’t really matter.  The answer is NOT more taxes on my business or my family.  It is not transferring MORE wealth from the US to Saudi Arabia.  If we want to reduce CO2 I say we actually reduce CO2 by generating more power from emission free sources like nuclear and solar.  We need to stop building new coal plants.  We need to convert the existing coal plants to natural gas.  Nuclear is the best solution for America – it reduces our dependence on foreign oil and reduces CO2 emissions.  The waste is cleaner than coal waste and is easier to contain.

So there you have it – global warming (real or not) is a scam.  Don’t fall for it.

Climate Bill Killing Jobs

August 13, 2009

http://www.eia.doe.gov/kids/energyfacts/sources/non-renewable/images/reactor.gifThe climate bill is really just a big tax bill for business and according to studies it will cost us two million jobs and reduce our potential for economic growth.  If it ever actually reduces CO2 emissions, it does so after 2030 (my reading of the bill suggests it reduces the growth after that date).  There is a better solution.  Why not focus on a solution that would: a) create millions of new jobs, b) reduce CO2 emissions by orders of magnitude and c) all but eliminate our need to import energy (oil)?

Our leaders need to quit listening to the coal lobby and instead embark on a New Deal-style building program to build a hundred or more nuclear power plants over the next five years.  What about all of that coal?  Why not ship it to China?  They can’t get enough oil and natural gas to power their growing economy – lets ship it to them until they can completely convert to zero emissions energy.

Electric cars will finally make more sense.  In a coal powered country (i.e. like America is today), electric cars actually generate more CO2 than traditional gasoline powered cars.  Using electricity generated by nuclear power they will truly be zero emission.

Of course we are going to need a few new laws.  First, the French figured a few things out that we can learn from.  The first thing they figured out was to use the same design for all of 59 of their reactors.  Why is that important?  Lower cost of construction and operation.  In the United States, federal law mandates that each reactor be of a different design.  By law our reactors must be custom built, one off designs, that share NO parts with other reactors.  The Chinese figured out who to build a reactor in two years, the average U.S. reactor takes twenty.  Why?  Lawyers.  We need a moratorium on lawsuits related to reactors for the next decade – the climate and job crisis require we act fast – we don’t have time to lose.

Obama, Pelosi and Reid need to hear from you.  Stop comprimising away our future.  Build nuclear plants now!

UPDATE: Interesting article in the WSJ this morning explaining that the creators of Cap-and-Trade (the climate tax working its way through Congress) don’t support the program anymore.  Why?  They insist it won’t work.
